SSCCC Region V Summit

Event Description:

Merced College is hosting the Region V Regional Summit for the Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC) in 2025. We are hoping to hold the summit on Friday, January 23rd. Start time is flexible, but the preferred schedule would be to begin with lunch at 12:00 p.m., and move on to trainings beginning at 1:00 p.m. The trainings they are planning to offer include elevator pitches, how to use Student Representation Fee funds, resolution writing and the statewide process, and civic engagement. They anticipate a group size comparable to previous Region V gatherings (about 15) and would appreciate a space that can comfortably support both in-person participation and teleconferencing. We are still waiting to receive flyers and information about who they will use to cater the event. It would be open to students.
